Divine Mercy Sunday in 2026 is April 12, 2026, which is the Second Sunday of Easter. The Divine Mercy Novena, which lasts for nine days, begins on Good Friday, April 3, 2026, and continues daily until Saturday, April 11, 2026. Holy Redeemer will be offering the Divine Mercy Chaplet pamphlets so you may participate in the Novena. Look for them at all entryway's this weekend.
Holy Redeemer has began an adult Bible Study on the Prophets beginning Thursdays from 9:45 to 11am in the Community room in the basement of the Church. Please come bring a Bible and a friend!
Holy Redeemer Parish delivers food to S.O.M.E. (So Others Might Eat), a D.C. organization that fights hunger, poverty and homelessness, on the second Thursday of each month. Donations of fruit and casseroles are needed, as well as a driver to take the food to S.O.M.E. in D.C. Parental, Spousal and Significant-Other Bereavement Support Group St. Elizabeth Bereavement Ministry will offer an eight-week bereavement support group series for adults who have experienced the death of a parent, spouse or other adult loved one. The sessions will be held virtually using the Zoom format. The spring series will meet on Thursday evenings at 7 – 8:30pm, from April 9 – May 28, 2026. There is no fee, but participants MUST register in advance. Space is strictly limited so call early. To register call Kevin Byrne (301-325-1796) or Claudia McAuliffe (301-881-1457). Are you married or engaged and interested in learning about Natural Family Planning? Join us for an overview of the science and spirituality of Fertility Awareness Based Methods (FABM) to help you choose one that will work for you. We invite you to attend our next virtual Introduction to NFP class on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10:00 am – 12:30 pm via Teams. Click here to view our schedule and to register for a class. Following this introductory class, couples choose a method and learn from a trainer certified by Couple to Couple League , BOMA USA, Creighton Method, or the Marquette Method.
