On Friday March 27th, Holy Redeemer will be sponsoring Supper and Stations. Dinner will start in the church basement at 6 PM with Stations of the Cross in the Main Church at 7 PM. Divine Mercy Sunday in 2026 is April 12, 2026, which is the Second Sunday of Easter. The Divine Mercy Novena, which lasts for nine days, begins on Good Friday, April 3, 2026, and continues daily until Saturday, April 11, 2026. Holy Redeemer will be offering the Divine Mercy Chaplet pamphlets so you may participate in the Novena. Look for them at all entryway's beginning next Sunday.
“REMEMBER THE SISTERS”
Honoring & Celebrating the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati
at Holy Redeemer School
As we celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Holy Redeemer School (HRS), we are asking HRS alumni, HRS Parishioners and others connected to HRS and the Parish to consider how best to celebrate and honor the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati (SCC). The Sisters served at HRS from 1950 to the early 1980’s. They taught generations of HRS children their academic subjects while educating them in the Faith. The Sisters gave of themselves, dedicating their lives to providing HRS children and families with an excellent education.
Our neighboring parish - Our Lady of Lourdes (OLOL) in Bethesda – honored the Sisters of St. Francis who taught at the OLOL School with a statute of a St. Francis Sister and a plaque listing all St. Francis Sisters who ever served at Lourdes. The statue and plaques are on the school’s Pearl Street side.
Lourdes is just one example of what might be done at Holy Redeemer Nothing, however, has been determined, selected or done yet. Any effort would be coordinated with the HRS 75th anniversary celebration and efforts to support HRS generally.
We are asking you to “spread the word” about this effort among HRS alumni, Parishioners and other interested persons. Those who are interested in this effort, have an idea or wish to support the effort generally and/or financially, should contact b.murray@hrs-ken.org.

Holy Redeemer has began an adult Bible Study on the Prophets beginning Thursdays from 9:45 to 11am in the Community room in the basement of the Church. Please come bring a Bible and a friend!
40 DAYS FOR LIFE - SPRING CAMPAIGN - a great Lenten opportunity!
The 40 Days for Life Spring Campaign runs Ash Wednesday, February 18 to Palm Sunday, March 29. As you probably know, the abortion facility on Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda has closed. We supported a prayer vigil there for many years. The clinic moved to 5454 Wisconsin Avenue, Chevy Chase, MD, 13th floor. It is called CARE Reproductive Health, LLC and is still performing late term abortions. All are invited to come and pray at the clinic on Saturdays at 10 am. Holy Redeemer has signed up to pray on Saturday, March 28 from 10am to 4pm. You can sign up at 40daysforlife.com, go to "Locations" and select "Chevy Chase Village" or email Paul Hurley, hurley.family1@verizon.net. If you are unable to get to the clinic, there is a small group of HR women who pray the rosary in the Adoration Chapel at 11 am on Mondays - all are welcome to join them.
Help support the work of Catholic Charities Lenten Food Drive. Plastic bags are now available in the church entryway for you to take home and fill up with the items listed in the flyer below. All food donation may be left under the choir loft steps and will be picked up on Monday March 23rd
Post Cana Spring Fling: A Day of Joy and Fellowship
The Washington Archdiocese Post Cana Group for widows and widowers cordially invites you to our annual Spring Fling! Join us for a day of prayer, an uplifting message, and a delicious catered meal.
