On behalf of Fr. Hughes and Holy Redeemer Parish, we invite you to continue watching and praying with the series The Rescue Project: Week 3, The Enemy is the Enemy. Last week we looked at the question, "Why is there something rather than nothing?" We moved through the story of creation, the goodness of God, and the human person as the pinnacle of creation made in the image and likeness of God. This week we will expose Satan as the Enemy, the "bad news," the reason why things went horrifically wrong.
"But by the envy of the devil, Death entered the world, and those who are in his possession experience it." Wisdom 2:24
This week we pray for the grace of Light to see the enemy for what he is... extremely powerful... but No Rival to God. He is simply a creature who seeks to destroy my life and yours by deceiving us the same way he sought to deceive Adam and Eve... with the lie that God is not for you, he doesn't care about you and your life. It's important to understand that as Christian men and women our only "enemy" should be "the enemy." It's also important that we understand who the enemy is and what his tactics are so that we can better arm ourselves against his influence in our lives.
